Mr Ian Beardmore
I am proud to have grown up in Stoke-on-Trent and attended schools within The Newman Catholic Collegiate before Newman University where I graduated to become a primary school teacher.
I held the post of Deputy Head and whilst there, the school was graded Outstanding by Ofsted. Subsequently, I completed my NPQH and was promoted to the role of Principal.
Eventually, I was appointed as the Executive Principal over 2 schools. Within 3 years of this appointment the other school changed its Ofsted judgement from requires improvement to Outstanding at its first inspection. Most recently, the school where I was originally appointed as Principal was inspected under the new Ofsted framework and was graded as outstanding, meaning the school retained this judgement for over 17 years. During this time I also achieved the PTSI (Professional Training of School Inspectors).
Having led two schools as Executive Principal, I gained considerable experience in school leadership and management which was further enhanced in my role as an NLE.
I am passionate about Catholic education and have dedicated most of my career to the advancement of Catholic schools. It was with great pride that I was appointed to the role of Catholic Executive Officer in April 2022 and I look forward to working with the Diocese to grow our group of Catholic schools across the Diocese in line with their vision.
